i am sorry but i havent watched it all yet but there are 2 quotes so far that make me wonder
1. 2:20 “What are they doing. They take money form sick people” *speachless* You get paid through your importance and for motivation. Just imagine a doctor who has the same attitude like someone working at burger king
2. 2:29 “They dont even answer your email” Simple answer: They cant tell you if this is a normal rush or somthing worse, if they never saw it. They are resposible and can be sued…

@thedocumentarian she has the means to get treatment wherever she chooses. She chooses to live in the USA, and she chooses to get treatment in the USA. If Cuba is so much better than the free world, why do you suppose she doesn’t move back there and get her treatment there? Hmm?

@KiddVid Maybe because she LIVES in Florida.

In the news today, Castro’s sister, Juanita Castro Ruz, is undergoing treatment for lung cancer, in MIAMI, FL, USA. Why not Cuba? Hmm?

so how much should they be paid? who should decide? you?

@TheMrMarple agreed
medical care could be no different than buying a cell phone for pennies
but the government got involved and now everything is expensive.

@fvckUb1tch people pay $10K+ for a new car. people pay $100K+ on homes. How much are you willing to pay someone who will save your life? Is your life worth more than $15K to you?

this is the fairest assessment of american healthcare i’ve seen, showing all sides of the argument rather than a partisan view. THANK YOU.

All you gotta do is get rid of the monopoly on medical school.

By law the American Medical Association is able to decide how many people go to medical school. They restrict how many people can become doctors creating a barrier to entry which allows doctors to charge monopoly prices which is why health care is more expensive then it should be.

This is not the failing of the free market but the failing of the US government for giving the AMA the power to regulate the number of doctors available.

get rid of insurance, medicare and medicaid.

pay for stuff out of pocket.

the free market will lower medical costs.

@hint0122 : if your question is directed to me, sorry I can’t answer it. The reason being is I don’t understand what you are trying to say…

Dude, he drives a 45 thousand dollar Lexus? How about a surgeon who makes $30 thousand a day…minimum. Yep, medical school is hard, internship and residency is hard. But $15k for a one hour procedure? that is outright GREED.

This is a really sad situation I really feel for her. I live in France where I can walk into a hospital with no money and get the best treatment out there…
I hope that the health care system gets better with the recent developements

people are just to greedy

And by the way how does it work for you to pay so many thousands of dollars for a university diploma??as you might know economys cannot be fixed because debt is in our banking system,have you ever wondered why the US has a 12trilion debt??englads 6 trilion??argentina 50 bilion??greece 250bilion??germany 3 trilion??russsia 70 bilion??france 4trilion??well thing of it…it will be very educated if you watched “money masters”or”zeitgeist”or at least study economics like i do…

By the way greek economy is based on other thinks and the country have other policies!for example greece never participate at wars with the U.N.(like ameica,england,germany etc…)and the strong sectors in greek economy are trade fleets tourism agriculture and a light industry…so you can say that we can have same products,by the way im not comparing greece to u.s.a,i recognize that usa is a great country but there are some mistakes that must be corected…

As i said before im capitalist but 4 thinks must be taken care of by the gorvement(education,healthcare,army,police)!and it is working prety good for me,the medical system provides me the same medical tech with you guys,america sells to make profit and we buy for our needs…we also have private sector at health care(cheaper)but not at education…like you have only private universities but no public!my opinion is both must exist!

@SDNAZI
We have other programs we can’t pay for like social security and will be heading down the drain with you guys and the rest of Socialized Europe!

@SDNAZI

I forgot education and healthcare provided by the government is free and has nothing to do with the government . The people running the Greek economy decided to gamble on derivitives and got into bed with the investment banks for the good of the Greek people. Funding large social programs is not condusive to a healthy economy, plain and simple.

Please don’t think I am bashing Greece, I just don’t think the system being pushed is right for the U.S.

The problems Greece is having has nothing to do with free education and healt care!

@DoelGr

Hows that economy in Greece working out for you? That free education and health care has destroyed your country. You don’t even have the expenses for innovation or invention. I can count all the new drugs and medical technology coming from Greece on one hand. Luckily, you can import drugs from eastern European countries that are illegal generic versions that are untested.

There is a lot of things wrong with the U.S. system, but the government running it will not fix it.

And about the payment that you questioned,the payment of a worker starts with the low payment witch is lets say 700 euros and then after you aquaire a university diploma it goes around +20% (900 euros)but because a doctors job is diffycult and demand consentration skills and good mood it reaches 1400 for starters(24-26 yearls old)no debt from studies(public universitys)and 7-8 hours per day work with christmas,easter and summer vocations…also 1-2 free day per weak…here you have happy docs!

aaa yes this economics things you said fletch is bullshit…im studying logistics and this kind of things are stupid…not to mention public health care systems that allready exist and have been a lot more usefull…here in greece universitys and hospitals are public witch is not good i believe that both must exist (public-private)but if you have a problem the docs will take care of you no mater what…
